According to a league official familiar with Atlanta’s thinking, the Hawks are not interested in doing a sign-and-trade with the Knicks, meaning they’d just let Johnson walk. The Hawks are among many teams that don’t like the Knicks’ players, meaning Johnson couldn’t get the “home-team deal” worth nearly $30 million more in the sign-and-trade.
