Around the perimeter of the Atlanta sports world.
... Joe Torre's eventual division champion Braves dropped both ends of a home doubleheader against their NL East rival Montreal Expos. The Expos racked up 26 total hits on the day, led by Andre Dawson's five. The front nine's losing pitcher, Bob Walk, gave up two walks, and naming a pitcher Bob Walk was as inspired as naming a quarterback Kale Pick.
(This is a new thing I'm trying out. Every Tuesday, pick a year randomly via a very complicated method and see what was happening in town at the time. Feedback me: is this a dumb idea or not?)

I like it
Though your timing could have been better. Come on, Braves are starting a big series against the Nationals, against a pitcher who has given them fits, and you dredge up that they got creamed in a double-header against the Expos 26 years ago? That’s unfortunate.

Looks like the reverse-curse worked!

I also like it.
I have endorsed the idea at Dawg Sports, despite the myriad and obvious reasons why I am not likely to enjoy this feature from a partisan perspective.

Thanks.
Much obliged.
By the way, we’re about an hour away from my yearly plea for the Georgia-Georgia Tech football game to be moved earlier in the year. Hey, we do it that way in basketball, right?

You really want to sit in early September Atlanta traffic that badly?
