... Joe Torre's eventual division champion Braves dropped both ends of a home doubleheader against their NL East rival Montreal Expos. The Expos racked up 26 total hits on the day, led by Andre Dawson's five. The front nine's losing pitcher, Bob Walk, gave up two walks, and naming a pitcher Bob Walk was as inspired as naming a quarterback Kale Pick.

(This is a new thing I'm trying out. Every Tuesday, pick a year randomly via a very complicated method and see what was happening in town at the time.
