Heyward Leads Braves to 9-3 Win Over Mets

The Braves got the series started off right with a blow out victory over the Mets and starter Pat Misch. Jason Heyward had a great day, going 4-5 with his 16th home run and four RBI.

Jason Heyward had four hits and four RBI for the second time since August 22. He ended up going 4-5 with a home run (16), and his one out was an absolute bullet to center field. The Braves had 14 hits altogether, with all of the top five hitters having at least two hits a piece.

The Braves scored five runs in the first two innings and were in control for almost the entire game. It was tied 2-2 heading into the bottom of the third and was five three heading to the bottom of the sixth. Jair Jurrjens did not pitch well, walking six batters, six hits, and three runs over 5.2 innings pitched. Eric O'Flaherty bailed him out of a jam in the sixth or else his run total would have been a lot worse. Kyle Farnsworth and Billy Wagner pitched scoreless innings in the eighth and ninth respectively.
