I apologize on the tardiness of the confirmation, but I’ve been ill all weekend. TSN is confirming with the Thrashers that Fredrik Modin has, in fact, been signed to a one year contract with the club.

The Atlanta Thrashers have signed unrestricted free agent forward Fredrik Modin, according to General Manager Rick Dudley. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“I know Fredrik well from our time in Tampa and he is an experienced and talented veteran who is tremendously respected in the locker room,” said Dudley. “He’s won a Stanley Cup, along with an Olympic Gold Medal, and possesses that winning mentality we are looking for.”
