MLB All-Star Game 2011: Craig Kimbrel, Not Tommy Hanson, Likely Replacing Matt Cain

Sometimes things just work themselves out. After San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy selected about 77 of his own pitchers to the National League's All-Star Game roster, it turns out Matt Cain will likely not be able to play in the ASG due to his Sunday night start against the Mets. Atlanta Braves reliever Craig Kimbrela noted snub, is expected to take Cain's spot according to David O'Brien.

Tommy Hanson is more deserving than at least one of those remaining Giants pitchers, but that's life. Better than nothing, right?

After Chipper Jones' injury forced the star third baseman out of the Midsummer Classic, Atlanta would be back to fielding four All Stars if Kimbrel's inclusion comes through.
