The 2011 Atlanta Falcons UFA class is filling up pretty quickly now. WR Doug Beaumont became the second Louisville Cardinals player to agree to sign, joining QB Adam Froman. Beaumont quoted Big Boi in his introductory tweet, so welcome aboard.
Beaumont, 5-foot-9 and 187 pounds, was a three-year starter and led the Cards in catches as a senior despite being injured. While he doesn't have an ideal physique, he sounds like a player with few obvious weaknesses. The Falcons are setting up a pretty fierce training camp battle for a practice squad WR slot.
Louisiana Tech athletic department member Patrick Walsh confirmed rumors of OL Rob McGill heading to Atlanta. At 310 pounds he would provide significant heft. Another three-year starter, he was named All-WAC in 2010 after making the second team in 2009 and 2008.
A couple of currently rumored players to keep an ear out for: UNLV OT Matt Murphy and Stony Brook center Paul Fenaroli.
