Dan Uggla Ties Atlanta Braves Record With 31 Game Streak

Stay connected for news and updates

Dan Uggla is now tied with Rico Carty for the longest hitting streak in Atlanta Braves history. With runners on second and third in the first inning, Uggla smashed a first pitch fastball back up the middle to drive in two runs and continue his hitting streak. For a player who had kept it alive with back-to-back games with an infield single, it was good to see our slugging second baseman hit a ball well.

Uggla will have to wait until Friday night to go for the all-time Atlanta record. The team will face the Chicago Cubs at Turner Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:35, though it'll be delayed. It's Bobby Cox Night. Tickets are going fast so if you plan on attending the game you should act quickly.

Stay tuned to SB Nation Atlanta for complete coverage of Dan Uggla and his pursuit of the all-time baseball record held by Joe DiMaggio.
