Texas A&M Likely Gone From Big 12, Say Texas And Kansas ADs

The SEC expansion plan, as it currently appears to stand, is for the Texas A&M Aggies to formally leave the Big 12 before accepting an invitation into the Southeastern Conference. As Team Speed Kills surmises, the SEC looks like it would rather not step on the Big 12's toes while acquiring a new team. Texas Longhorns athletic director DeLoss Dodds thinks A&M is all but gone, adding that he'd be fine with either nine or 10 teams, with the latter preferred. Getting back up to 10 wouldn't be all that hard if the Houston Cougars joined on, as is the current reported contingency plan. Kansas Jayhawks counterpart Sheahon Zenger agrees, expressing that the nine schools left will make for a strong and unified conference.

As long as everybody's cool with Texas having the head of the table, the entire dessert cart and the table itself, the Big 12 can enjoy a long and prosperous run. We know the Missouri Tigers, for one, aren't entirely happy.
