Missouri AD Denies SEC Interest, But Add Clemson To Rumors

Stay connected for news and updates

We know Texas A&M is likely leaving the Big 12. It's been reported the Florida St. Seminoles are in some sort of discussion with the SEC. A move to 14 would be a big deal and all, but could the SEC be looking to go straight to 16 teams?

Let's very highly doubt it. I'm only sharing this to get to the paragraph below, which is actual news, but here it is: a Doug Gottlieb report says the SEC plans to add A&M, FSU, the Clemson Tigers and the Missouri Tigers, based on an Aggies source. And now for the important part:

Mizzou athletic director Mike Alden, however, has pretty strongly denied the report of his school showing even the slightest interest in the SEC or any other conference, which is ... interesting, since they supposedly wanted into the Big Ten so badly. Florida State's president did the same regarding FSU, though in much less emphatic tones that still lead one to put them atop the list of potential invites.

Entirely too many Tigers going on here, so let's happily disregard Mizzou and assume no Clemson either.
