The Georgia Southern Eagles were held far below their average rushing output against the Wofford Terriers, but they were still able to hold on for a 17-9 win. The win puts the Eagles in first place in the Southern Conference, with Wofford now sitting behind them. It's also the Eagles' third straight win over Wofford
Dominique Swope rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns to pace the Georgia Southern offense. The Eagles didn't attempt a single pass, and only amassed 265 rushing yards, far below their 437-yard average. Through six games, Georgia Southern has only attempted 33 passes.
The Eagles' defense came up big again, holding the normally-potent Wofford offense to zero touchdowns and 248 total yards. The Terriers were averaging over 512 yards of offense per game before this. GSU is third in the FCS in total defense, and may rise to No. 2 after this effort.
