Jim Brown-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
Georgia State will look to win its second game in a row for the first time since 2010.
The Georgia State Panthers are a little banged up, and they may be without key members of their defensive line this weekend against Villanova. But defensive coordinator Anthony Midget knows the line is resilient enough to recover:
"It's going to be a challenge, but I just tell the guys that it's next man up. We experienced this in the spring when we had a lot of guys out and we gave guys opportunities to play."
Midget recognizes that Villanova's passing attack is dangerous: "The quarterback (John Robertson) is very, very good and they have some talented running backs and their offensive line is solid. They have big time receivers on outside."
As Doug Roberson points out, this means that Georgia State cannot simply load the box, because Villanova will be able to beat them over the top.
Georgia State is coming off its first victory of the season, thanks -- in large part -- to its best defensive effort thus far. The Panthers surrendered just seven points to Rhode Island.
