Boston College vs. Georgia Tech: Will we see Vad Lee?

Josh D. Weiss-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Georgia Tech has lost three straight. But coach Paul Johnson and assistant Brian Bohannon aren't ready to pull starting quarterback Tevin Washington just yet.

With Georgia Tech in the midst of a three-game losing streak, questions have begun to arise about the potential for backup quarterback Vad Lee to see more playing time. It doesn't appear that Lee will unseat starter Tevin Washington anytime soon, however. When commenting on Lee's practice performance, Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson didn't mince words.

"He’s not beating anybody out, if that’s what you’re asking," Johnson told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Quarterbacks coach Brian Bohannon was a little more sanguine.

"He’s a redshirt freshman," Bohannon said of Lee. "He’s getting a lot better. He had a really good day today and I foresee him right now, he’s going to do nothing but have arrows up from here on out."

Still, Bohannon stopped short of predicting increased playing time for Lee.

"I think he’s got to come out every day and try to win the job," Bohannon told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Last week, it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t good. It was just O.K."
