Georgia Vs. Kentucky Score: Murray sets school touchdown record as Bulldogs lead, 16-14, at half

Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray completed a 1-yard touchdown pass to Tavarres King to surpass David Greene's school record of 73 career touchdown passes as the Bulldogs lead the Kentucky Wildcats, 16-14, at halftime.

Murray's record-making toss almost brought the Bulldogs into a tie with the Wildcats, but Georgia missed the extra point to leave the score at 14-13, until a last-second field goal gave Georgia the lead.

The Wildcats opened the second quarter with a quick response to the Bulldogs' first-quarter touchdown. Wide receiver DeMarco Robinson connected with quarterback Jalen Whitlow on a 33-yard trick pass to bring the Wildcats into the red zone. Morgan Newton then ran it in 2 yards to give the Wildcats a 14-7 lead.

The Bulldogs responded with another touchdown. Murray connected with King on a 45-yard completion to set up the record-tying touchdown. King leads all receivers with 147 yards and two touchdowns on six receptions. Murray is 15-for-19 with 243 yards and two touchdowns.

Murray almost broke the Georgia touchdown record with a minute left in the half, when wide receiver Marlon Brown was open in the backfield but Brown dropped the pass. The Bulldogs continued to drive down the field as the clock was ticking and were on the beneficial side of very close spot to give the Bulldogs a crucial first down.

However, the Wildcats' defense held strong and the Bulldogs had to settle for a field goal. The field goal bounced off the upright, but did so in the right direction.

The Wildcats have been easily rushing the ball against the Bulldogs' defense. Kentucky has 24 carries for 137 yards at half, already well over the 106.9 yards per game the Wildcats average on the ground.
