The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are trailing the Brigham Young Cougars, 31-17, at the end of the third quarter in Atlanta's Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Coming out of the halftime break, BYU had a 24-14 lead over Georgia Tech resulting from an effective first-half rushing game.

Midway through the third quarter, BYU's Daniel Sorensen intercepted a Tevin Washington pass, returning the ball 26 yards to the 2-yard line. Two plays later, BYU's Jamaal Williams would punch into the end zone for a touchdown.

Georgia Tech's lone points of the half thus far would come off of a 20-yard Justin Moore field goal, which capped a nine-play, 70-yard scoring drive. The Yellow Jackets have struggled on offense throughout the game, with the team gaining just 141 yards of total offense through the game's first three quarters.

To begin the fourth quarter, BYU will have the ball on the Georgia Tech 39-yard line.

The Yellow Jackets have struggled offensively through the first two quarters, gaining just 86 total yards to BYU's 214 and failing to convert on a single third down. The Cougars, on the other hand, have moved the ball well with their balanced offensive attack. BYU quarterback Riley Nelson is 13 of 19 for 124 yards while halfback Jamaal Williams has gained 54 yards on 14 carries with two scores.

The Cougars scored first, with Williams rushing for a six yard touchdown to cap a 12 play, 55 yard drive in the first quarter. Tech would then tie the ballgame with an Isaiah Johnson 22 yard interception return of a Riley Nelson pass for a touchdown.

The second quarter was all BYU, though, as Jamaal Williams and Riley Nelson would both rush for Cougar touchdowns to establish a 14 point lead. After Nelson's touchdown, Georgia Tech's Jamal Golden would return the ensuing kickoff for 97 yards and a touchdown. One drive later, BYU kicker Justin Sorensen would make 26 yard field goal bringing the game to its current 24-14 margin.
