Atlanta Falcons tight end Michael Palmer practiced Monday for the first time since suffering a shoulder injury Sept. 23.

Atlanta Falcons tight end Michael Palmer, who suffered at shoulder injury Sept. 23 during Atlanta's 27-3 win at the San Diego Chargers, returned to practice Monday. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Palmer has been eager to return to the field:

"Missing three games, that's a long time to be standing on the side lines watching your teammates," Palmer said. "Luckily, we were able to keep winning so that always makes it easier."

The Falcons are coming off their bye week, but Palmer didn't get much of a break. He was at a team facility receiving treatment for his injured shoulder:

"I spent the whole week here getting treatment," Palmer said. "So it wasn't too much of a bye week for me. But that's OK. I'm just ready to get back out there on the field."

Before suffering the injury, Palmer played in three games and caught two passes for seven yards. The third-year veteran has 17 receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns in his brief career with Atlanta.

Next up for the 6-0 Falcons is a date at the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday, Oct. 28. The game is set to kick off at 1 p.m. ET and will be televised by FOX.
