The 6-1 Georgia Southern Eagles take on the 4-3 Chattanooga Mocs on Saturday, with both teams entering the game on win streaks. The Mocs have won their last three in a row, while Georgia Southern hasn't lost since Week 2 against the Citadel Bulldogs.
Georgia Southern's last game was a comeback win that saw the Eagles score 29 points in the final 19 minutes of the game. Trailing 10-9 late in the third, Georgia Southern's offense went on a tear. Jerick McKinnon connected with Zach Walker for a 75-yard touchdown pass, Johnathan Bryant broke off a 42-yard touchdown run, and Dominique Swope added another two touchdowns and another run for the final two-point conversion.
That win put Georgia Southern at 5-1 in Southern Conference play. With Appalachian State following Chattanooga on the schedule, the Eagles have a clear path to repeating as the Southern Conference champions.
