Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez rates the team's offense an 8 through 4 weeks. Does it have any chance of improving to a 9 or 10?
Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez knows that while the offense has been impressive in the first four games of the season, there is always room for improvement. In his locker room interview on Thursday, Gonzalez also believes that his personal offensive rating should not improve:
"I'd give us an eight. We've done what we wanted to, but at the same time there is room for improvement. There is always room for improvement. That's what we're striving for. It'll never be a 10. It's impossible or even a nine."
Gonzalez also believes that the team should not be getting ahead of itself this early in the season. While he thinks the fast start is good, he knows that there's a lot of the season left to play:
"I think it's hugely important we don't get ahead of ourselves. It's only four games. We have a long season. We just have to keep playing it one game at a time and I think Coach Smitty does a great job with that. He's definitely reiterating day in and day out that we have to stay hungry and we are. I don't think that's going to be a problem
The Falcons play the Washington Redskins on Sunday at 1 p.m. at FedEx Field. Television coverage of the game will be provided by Fox.
