Back in March, South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier talked a little trash and referenced Georgia's history of suspended players

South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier tried to poke the Georgia Bulldogs back in March. Because this game between the Bulldogs and the Gamecocks is later in the season, Spurrier says that there will be more players than he's used to dealing with, according to a post on Dog Bytes Online:

"I sort of always liked playing them that second game because you could always count on them having two or three key players suspended,"

The Bulldogs have had players suspended earlier this season, but tight end Derek Rich took the comments in stride during spring practice:

"How ‘bout that? I think that's funny. That sounds like Steve."

Linebacker Christian Robinson did acknowledge that Spurrier had a point when he made the comments:

"I'd say that he might be right, at least in recent history," Robinson said. "But I'm not going to fight fire with fire. It's nothing like ‘old man football,' though. I don't have any signs to hold up this time."

The Bulldogs and the Gamecocks play each other at 7 p.m. on Saturday from Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
