The Atlanta Hawks hope to snap a two game losing streak Monday night when they take on the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden. Atlanta will be playing its second game of a four-game western swing and its first back-to-back of the season.
The Hawks lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 89-76 on Sunday in a rather sloppy performance. Josh Smith led the way with 13 points but hit just 6-14 field goal attempts. Atlanta is now 2-3 on the season and has games at Golden State and Sacramento still to go this week.
Portland is 2-4 on the season and riding a three game losing skid. The Trail Blazers lost at home on Saturday 112-109 to the San Antonio Spurs. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 29 points in the loss to the Spurs on Saturday and is averaging a team best 21.8 per contest. The game will also be Atlanta's first look at rookie point guard Damian Lillard who is averaging 18.8 points and 7.0 assists per game.
