2012 Champions Classic, Michigan State vs. Kansas start time, TV info

The Jayhawks host the Spartans on Tuesday night.

The No. 7 Kansas Jayhawks will have their first big test of the season when they host No. 21 Michigan State at 7 p.m. ET in the 2012 Champions Classic on Tuesday.

Kansas enters Tuesday night's game with a 1-0 record after defeating Southeast Missouri State, 74-55, in the season opener. Jeff Withey led Kansas in the opener with 17 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks in 30 minutes. Perry Ellis also had a big night, scoring 15 points and hauling in eight rebounds.

Michigan State might be a top 25 team, but it lost its season opener in an upset. The Spartans (0-1) fell to UConn, 66-62, in the Armed Forces Classic on Friday night in Germany. Keith Appling led the Spartans with 17 points and four assists. Branden Dawson scored 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for a double-double.
