Tyaunna Marshall surpassed 1,000 points for her career with Georgia Tech on Tuesday night.

With a dominating victory on Tuesday night, the Georgia Tech women's basketball team earned its first victory of the 2012-13 season, handily defeating the Kennesaw State Owls, 80-51. For the Yellow Jackets, it was a bounce back from an opening-game loss to Tennessee, as the Volunteers earned a 71-54 win on Sunday.

It was all Georgia Tech from the beginning of the game, as the team jumped out to a 38-8 lead over Kennesaw State in fewer than 15 minutes. That 30-point margin extended to as much as 38 points in the second half and was more than enough of a cushion to keep the Owls well out of reach.

The game offered the Yellow Jackets the opportunity to use many of their bench players, as five different reserve players earned over 14 minutes on the court. While 12 different players scored for Georgia Tech, it was Tyaunna Marshall that led the way with 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
