Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson said the team's focused on their game against Georgia, not the week after when they'll play Florida State for the ACC title.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets secured their spot in the ACC Championship Game against the Florida St. Seminoles on Monday after Miami opted to self-impose a bowl ban for the second consecutive season. However, the players and staff weren't jumping for joy, but instead keeping their focus on their game against the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday:
"Right now, our focus is on Georgia, because if it’s not, we’ll go up there and get embarrassed," [head coach Paul] Johnson said.
Georgia Tech's second half turnaround has been impressive. After six games, the Yellow Jackets stood at 2-4, and were giving up huge numbers of points of defense. Since then, they've reeled off four wins in the past five games while scoring a ton of points themselves. They have a challenge on their hands against the Bulldogs, though. Georgia has beaten Georgia Tech 10 out of the past 11 years, despite the fact that most of those games have been fairly close. They'll need a huge effort from their defense to keep them in the game.
Kickoff from Athens is set for noon ET.
