Georgia Tech vs. Syracuse Final Score: Yellow Jackets fall 75-72 in OT

Mark Dolejs-US PRESSWIRE

Georgia Tech couldn't close the deal, losing by three in an overtime affair.

On Friday night, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets lost 75-72 in overtime to the Syracuse Orange down in Puerto Rico in the opening round of the San Juan Shootout.

The Lady Jackets (2-2) started off slow, falling behind early. Then, they found themselves, coming back from a dougle-digit hole before ultimately faltering in the extra session.

Dawnn Maye led Georgia Tech's effort, scoring a career-high 26 points on the evening, to accompany four rebounds, three steals and two assists in 44 minutes.

Jasmine Blain was also a major contributor. The senior stepped her game up, recording a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds against the Orange (5-0).

Elashier Hall and Kayla Alexander paced Syracuse with 15 and 14 points respectively. Hall also snagged 11 rebounds to lead the Orange.

Today, the Yellow Jackets will take on the Milwaukee Panthers at noon in their last game at San Juan before heading home.
