The Falcons and Saints are set for a showdown on Thursday Night Football.
At 10-1, the Falcons are tied with the Houston Texans for the best record in the NFL, but their only loss came two weeks ago at New Orleans. The Saints took an 11-point lead into the fourth quarter and held on for a 31-27 victory. Since then, Atlanta has won two straight close games over the Arizona Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
New Orleans (5-6) needs a win to keep up in the NFC playoff race. The Saints had won three straight games before falling at home to the San Francisco 49ers, 31-21, on Sunday. New Orleans is a game behind Tampa Bay and the Seattle Seahawks, who are tied for the final NFC Wild Card spot.
The Falcons can clinch the NFC South with a win and a Buccaneers loss at the Denver Broncos this Sunday.
