The Atlanta Hawks hit the road without Josh Smith for a difficult matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After opening the 2012-13 regular season with a 109-102 loss to the Houston Rockets, the Atlanta Hawks hit the road for a matchup with the other team in the James Harden trade the Oklahoma City Thunder. Atlanta will be without one of its key players as Josh Smith will remain behind in Atlanta with an ankle injury.
Smith finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds in Friday's loss to the Rockets. Larry Drew will likely insert Zaza Pachulia into the starting lineup and shift Al Horford over to the power forward position in place of Smith. Ivan Johnson is also likely to see a lot of playing time Sunday night after receiving a DNP-CD on Friday.
The Thunder come into the game at 1-1 on the season and coming off a 106-92 win over Portland on Friday. Through two games, Russell Westbrook leads the Thunder with a 25 points per game scoring average. Kevin Durant is averaging 23 points while the newly acquired Kevin Martin is adding 17.0 per night.
