After LSU's loss to Alabama clears the way, the Bulldogs climb one spot in the fourth BCS standings, landing in the fifth position.
The Georgia Bulldogs, the beneficiaries of the LSU Tigers' loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide, climb to No. 5 in the latest BCS rankings, and are now the highest-ranked one-loss team in the nation.
The Bulldogs continue to trail the undefeated Tide, which land at No. 1, as well as the undefeated No. 2 Kansas State Wildcats, No. 3 Oregon Ducks and No. 4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
The Bulldogs land squarely in the No. 5 spot, trailing the No. 4 Irish by nearly .1000, while ahead of the No. 6 Florida Gators by slightly less than .03. Georgia's fifth-place bow in both the Harris Interactive Poll and the USA Today Coaches' Poll, combined with their sixth-best computer ranking to give the Bulldogs their spot in the BCS.
LSU falls to No. 7 after the loss to Alabama, and is now the highest-ranked two-loss team.
