Falcons vs. Cowboys halftime score: Atlanta tied up in ugly 6-6 contest

Stay connected for news and updates

The Falcons managed to miraculously march down the field and put up three points in the waning minutes of the first half, but that doesn't erase the rough first half Atlanta fans have had to endure.

Matt Ryan is a respectable 10-for-15 passing the ball, with 128 yards and no turnovers, but the real disappointment has come on the ground. Michael Turner has managed only 18 yards on eight carries, and Jacquizz Rodgers has negative three yards on two rushes.

Despite the complete lack of offensive production, the Falcons defense has managed decent success, including two-near interceptions of opposing QB Tony Romo. But one was called back due to penalty, and the other one was dropped by Asante Samuel.

Thus, we have the current stalemate. Julio Jones and Roddy White have three catches apiece for a combined 111 yards receiving, but the trouble has again come in the red zone against an underrated Cowboys defense.

Combine the lack of a run game with consistent pressure on Ryan from the likes on Demarcus Ware and Bruce Carter, and you have a disappointing six point performance.

Dirk Koetter will certainly look to make offensive adjustments going forward.
