Injured Hawks forward Josh Smith returned to practice on Tuesday and could return for Wednesday's game against Indiana.

The Atlanta Hawks could get one of their key players back in time for Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers as forward Josh Smith took part in a portion of contact practice on Tuesday.

Smith injured his ankle in Atlanta's season opening loss to the Houston Rockets last Friday. He did not travel with the team to Oklahoma City over the weekend and sat out the contact portion of practice on Monday. Smith did get shots up on Monday and by returning to full practice on Tuesday, looks like he will be a go for Wednesday's game against the Pacers.

Smith finished with with 18 points and 10 rebounds in Firday's loss to the Rockets. He played all 12 minutes of the fourth quarter and looked ok in the locker room following the game. He however came in sore on Saturday and the team elected to play it safe and leave him behind in Atlanta for treatment.
