Scott Cunningham

The Eagles have made their way to the national semifinals, but will face their toughest opponent yet.

Both games in the FCS playoffs for the Georgia Southern Eagles have been close affairs so far. A second-round, 24-16 victory over Central Arkansas followed by a big come-from-behind win, including 28 fourth-quarter points, by a 49-35 score over Old Dominion in the quarterfinals last weekend. This Friday, a late-game comeback may not be possible as they face the No. 1 overall North Dakota State Bison.

The Bison had a near-flawless season; racking up their only loss to the Indiana St. Sycamores, 17-14. The Bison took easy care of their first round opponent, South Dakota State, by a score of 28-3. They struggled a little more with Wofford in the quarterfinals, but still advanced, 14-7.

The teams will be playing for a trip to the national championship on Jan. 5, and the winner of that game will face the winner of the Sam Houston State vs. Eastern Washington game.

Location and Kickoff Time: Fargodome in Fargo, ND at 8 p.m.
