Alabama State vs. Georgia Tech preview: Jackets go for 3rd win in a row

Georgia Tech hosts Alabama State on Monday night as its seven-game homestand continues. The Jackets are going for their best start since 2009-10.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will try to extend their winning streak to three games when they take on Alabama State Monday night. The Jackets are 6-2 so far this year, with losses to California and Illinois. A win over the Hornets would give Georgia Tech its best start since the 2009-10 season.

Marcus Georges-Hunt leads the Jackets in scoring with an average of 11.8 points per game. Mfon Udofia is averaging 10 points per game and is the only other player on the team with an average in double figures. Robert Carter Jr. is the team's leading rebounder.

The Hornets come into the game at 1-8 overall, their lone victory coming over Troy. They are shooting 34.2 percent from three-point range, but they rank 240th nationally in two-point field goal percentage and 346th in free throw shooting percentage. Three players are averaging double-digit points so far this season.
