The Atlanta Hawks took care of business by going 2-0 over the weekend and moving up in the standings after the Miami Heat stumbled through a road trip.
The Atlanta Hawks continued their hot play as of late by picking up a pair of wins over the weekend.
On Friday, Jeff Teague scored 27 points and dished out eight assists in the Hawks' 102-94 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. On Saturday, the team returned home to take on the Indiana Pacers, a game they won 109-100 behind Al Horford's 20 points and Louis Williams' 21.
Elsewhere in the Southeast Division, the Hawks were able to move up in the division standings thanks to a rough weekend for the Miami Heat, who dropped a 109-99 decision on the road to the Detroit Pistons and then lost 104-85 to the Milwaukee Bucks Saturday.
Other scores of interest in the region include the New Orleans Hornets narrowly edging out the Charlotte Bobcats 98-95 Saturday and the Orlando Magic dropping dropping a game Friday to the Washington Wizards 105-97 and then getting crushed by the Toronto Raptors at home Saturday 123-88.
In the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Clippers continue to be blistering hot, as a 107-96 victory over the Utah Jazz Sunday helped them complete a 16-0 record in the month of December.
