Mfon Udofia has proven to be invaluable for Brian Gregory and his Yellow Jackets.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are playing well and are off to a 5-2 record in the non-conference portion of their schedule as a result.

One of the biggest factors on this young squad is senior guard Mfon Udofia, who has led with his character and play. Udofia has been a stalwart for the Yellow Jackets in recent years after coming to the school as part of Paul Hewitt's 2009 recruiting class.

Head coach Paul Gregory knows how important Udofia is to his chances of success this year, according to macon.com:

"We’re starting to see Mfon Udofia grow into a leade. He is becoming the kind of leader that doesn’t come along all that often."

Coming into this season, Udofia brings a wealth of experience that no other player on Georgia Tech's roster can come close to matching. The Stone Mountain native had 66 starts under his belt before 2012-13 even began, including 25 as a freshman and 30 last year.

The only senior on the team, Udofia stands out to opposing coaches who can see exactly what he brings to the table every night. Georgia head coach Mark Fox said, "I think he’s really the difference-maker for them. I think he’s a much better player than he was a year ago and in previous years."
