The 2012 MEAC Tournament rolls along and into Wednesday. The first of two night games in the conference championship tournament pits the No. 1 Savannah St. Tigers against the No. 8 seed Hampton Pirates. The Tigers experienced a tougher fight than they may have expected from the No. 8 seed with Hampton pulling off the upset 59-46
The Tigers fell behind in the first half and seemed stunned in the games final minutes, as the Pirates stretched a single-digit lead all the way up to 13.
Christopher Tolson had quite a game for Hampton leading all scorers with 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Only one of the Savannah State players -- Preston Blackman -- reached double digits in scoring.
