Stay connected for news and updates

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets came into the Gainesville Regional baseball tournament wanting to save their ace pitcher Buck Farmer for a possible matchup up with the regional host Florida Gators, but they have to get past the College of Charleston first and the it's been a bit of a struggle so far.

Freshman Cole Pitts gave up three runs on seven hits in the first two innings, and if wasn't for the Yellow Jacket offense, that could be a big problem for Georgia Tech.

Fortunately for Tech, they managed to open the game with three first-inning runs, which saw ACC tournament MVP Jake Davies go yard for a three-run shot to right field. Then in the second inning, Brandon Thomas hit a three-run shot of his own, which followed an RBI single from Sam Dove, which gave the Yellow Jackets a 7-3 advantage over the College of Charleston after two innings.
