The Atlanta Dream lost another game and perhaps another key player to injury Tuesday night at Philips Arena. Atlanta once again struggled offensively falling 73-60 to the New York Liberty and lost guard Lindsey Harding to an apparent ankle injury late in the fourth quarter.
The Dream were already without leading scorer Angel McCoughtry who missed her second straight game with a sprained knee. Atlanta turned in one of its worst offensive performances of the season hitting just 35 percent of its field goal attempts while turning the ball over 18 times.
Harding and Sancho Lyttle led the team with 13 points each. Cathrine Kraayeveld added nine off the bench but was just 3 for 11 from the field. Atlanta out rebounded the Liberty 38-28 and 15-5 on the offensive glass but couldn't take advantage of the extra opportunities.
Cappie Pondexter led the Liberty with 14 points and 13 assists while Essence Carson also finished with 14. The Liberty hit 51 percent of their shots and recorded 23 assists on 31 made baskets.
The loss is Atlanta's second straight and drops them to 4-7 on the season. The Dream is an alarming 1-7 against the Eastern Conference this season.
