I'll Have Another, the horse many racing industry experts pegged to win the first to win Triple Crown in over three decades, was scratched from the Belmont Stakes with an injury on Friday, thus continuing the streak. Trainer Doug O'Neil confirmed what had been widely rumored for 24 hours on the Dan Patrick Show Friday morning. The I'll Have Another team of owners and trainers has a press conference scheduled for 1 p.m ET to discuss the horse's removal from the Belmont. The nature of the injury has not yet been revealed:
"We ain't taking any chances," and that the scratch "is a bummer, but far from tragic." O'Neill guessed that I'll Have Another has run his last race.
