Two swimmers from the State of Georgia will be ready to compete -- and in some cases, bring home medals -- on Tuesday, the fourth official day of competition at the 2012 London Olympics.

Allison Schmitt, a Pittsburgh native who attended college at the University of Georgia, will be competing in the semifinals of the women's 200-meter freestyle event. Schmitt has already won two Olympic medals thus far. She grabbed a silver medal in the women's 400-meter freestyle and a bronze medal in the women's 4x100-meter freestyle relay.

Also in the pool, Kathleen Hersey, a native of Athens, Ga. who like Schmitt, attended college at Georgia, will compete in the fourth heat of the women's 200-meter butterfly.
