Champions Bowl: Atlanta Will Officially Bid On SEC-Big12 Game

Stay connected for news and updates

It's no surprise, but the city of Atlanta will join New Orleans and Arlington, Texas as the only three official bids for the SEC/Big 12 Champions Bowl:

With a potential new football stadium in talks thanks to the Falcons, the city of Atlanta is aggressively courting as many college football events and properties as possible. Considering the city already hosts the Chick-fil-A Bowl, the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic (expanding to two games this year) and the SEC Championship as well as the College Football Hall of Fame's new location, Atlanta is aggressively pursuing the title of America's college football capital.

It's unclear if the Champions Bowl will rotate or be housed in a single city. New Orleans is currently the home of the Sugar Bowl, while Arlington hosts the SEC/Big 12 Cotton Bowl.
