Padres Vs. Braves: Tim Hudson, Martin Prado Lead Atlanta To 6-0 Win

The Atlanta Braves sent their most reliable pitcher to the mound on Tuesday night to end their two-game losing skid. Tim Hudson delivered, tossing 6.1 innings of shutout ball as the Braves went on to beat the Padres by a score of 6-0.

Hudson surrendered just two hits and a walk. He struck out four and picked up his 12th win of the season. Jonny Venters struck out the two batters he faced in relief as he continued looking like his old self. Luis Avilan scattered two hits in his inning of work, while Craig Kimbrel recorded two more strikeouts as he closed out the ninth.

Michael Bourn tripled to leadoff the game and was driven in on a groundout from Freddie Freeman. Dan Uggla hit a solo homer to push the score to 2-0 in the fifth, and Chipper Jones singled home a run with a line drive up the middle in the sixth.

Martin Prado put the game out of reach for Atlanta, crushing a belt-high fastball over the center field wall for the three-run homer. It was Prado's sixth blast of the season and his first in nearly two months.

The series is now tied at one with two games remaining. It'll be Paul Maholm and Edinson Volquez on the mound for Wednesday night's affair. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. EST.
