Georgia Tech's Zach Laskey To Switch From Defense To Offense

Georgia Tech Sophomore Zach Laskey was not advancing up the depth chart at defensive back, one of the team's deepest positions. Now he's trying to make the switch to offense, where he will vie for a starting job at B-back, according to the Macon Telegraph's Stan Awtrey.

Laskey is a 6-foot-1, 208-pound native of Starr's Mill, who has been turning heads since making the switch. He has impressed coach Paul Johnson, who said "He's got a really good chance." Laskey will be looking to press David Sims, the returning starter, for playing time, having already surpassed Charles Perkins on the depth chart.

In a scrimmage last week at Bobby Dodd Stadium, Laskey had runs of 16 and 25 yards.

Laskey played eight games last year as a true freshman, and was the team's primary punt returner for the first two months. In that time, he returned 11 punts for 94 yards, and had a long return of 28 yards.
