Georgia was ranked sixth in the first AP college football poll of the season.
The Georgia Bulldogs have landed at No. 6 on the AP Top 25 college football poll, which was released Saturday morning.
It's another top-10 distinction for the Bulldogs, who were also picked No. 6 in the USA Today poll and No. 9 in SportsIllustrated's poll.
USC, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma and Oregon comprised the top 5, with all but Oregon receiving first-place votes. Florida State, Michigan (which received a first-place vote), South Carolina and Arkansas round out the top 10, giving the SEC five of the top 10. Florida (No. 23) was the other SEC team to make the top 25.
Quarterback Aaron Murray highlights 15 returning starters in 2012 after finishing 2011 10-4 with a loss in the Outback Bowl.
