UGA Football Fall Practice: Bulldogs Begin Preparing For Buffalo, Missouri

Georgia football began preparations for Buffalo, their opponent for Sept. 1's season opener at Sanford Stadium, during Saturday's 90-minute, full-pad practice, according to Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald.

That's not the game that's on most Georgia fan's minds--that would be the Week 2 clash in Columbia in Missouri's SEC debut--but no matter, says coach Mark Richt.

Richt said the Bulldogs always game-plan for the season's first two opponents during the offseason, and that this year is no different.

In fact, early prep work may be even more crucial this time around with an unfamiliar opponent in Missouri looming. The Tigers run an efficient spread with James Franklin, one of the more underrated quarterbacks in the country, at the helm. Mizzou also boasts a freshman wide receiver, Dorial Green-Beckham, who was the top-rated player in the entire country out of high school last year.

Thanks to the internet, the Georgia coaching staff already took a look at the 6-6 playmaker:

"We pulled some stuff up," secondary coach Scott Lakatos said earlier this summer. "You can get all that stuff online now. Recruiting stuff is easy to get. When you're looking at a guy that's going to play as a true freshman, you've got to take a look and see what you're going to get."
