Georgia Tech Football Preseason: Jackets Start Virginia Tech Prep With 'Unacceptable" Practice

Stay connected for news and updates

Georgia Tech football coach Paul Johnson told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the Yellow Jackets' first day of preparations for Virginia Tech didn't go well - to say the least.

"[Monday] was not very good," coach Paul Johnson said. "It was unacceptable."

While most of the ACC and the nation are preparing to start the 2012 season with non-BCS opponents or FCS teams, the Jackets will face division rival VIrginia Tech on Monday night, September 3. According to the AJC, Johnson's distate for Monday's product came from the speed and effort of the players.

Quarterback-turned-A-back Synjyn Days is continuing to practice at both positions. The former backup quarterback could likely see time at both positions. Meanwhile, B-backs David Sims and Charles Perkins were both on the field for Monday's practice after missing time due to injuries. Cornerback Louis Young, however, did not participate and was seen wearing a forearm cast.
