London Olympics 2012: Missy Franklin Considering Georgia For College

Some recruiting news came out of London over the weekend as female swimming sensation Missy Franklin listed her potential college destinations. Included in those was the University of Georgia.

Franklin will be turning down millions of dollars in endorsements in order to swim in college.

“I have always wanted to swim in college. I love being a part of team. It is so important to me. A lot of people think of swimming as an individual event, but there is such a huge team aspect behind [it] in just knowing that you have the support of so many people behind you. And you know they’re there, and they’re cheering you. I think that’s so special and college takes that to a whole other level.”

Other potential destinations for Franklin are Cal-Berkley, USC and Texas. She is set to become a high school senior this year.
