Georgia Football Preseason: University Tweaks Drug Test Policy

While the Georgia football program's strict marijuana testing policy has been the subject of many grumblings from fans about the Bulldogs putting themselves at a competitive disadvantage, the school is not backing down from their no tolerance policy.

Instead, the only tweaks they are making come to the disclosure process, in an attempt to prevent school officials from leaking the names of the violators to the media:

"Employees who improperly release such information are subject to discipline up to and including termination of employment," [the school's new drug policy] states. Anyone from the school notified of a substance abuse issue for an athlete "will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement."

But with the amount of interest and passion generated by Georgia football, it's almost naive to think that a suspension of the player the caliber of S Bacarri Rambo wouldn't get out sooner than rather than later.

If it's not an official from the school who leaks the report, a suspension would almost certainly become public knowledge when the athlete tells his teammates and friends around campus.
