London Olympics 2012: Team USA Set For Semifinal Showdown Against Austrailia

Team USA looks to move one step closer to a fifth straight gold medal on Thursday when they take on Australia in the semifinals at the London Olympics.

The USA women have had little challenge to this point but Australia's front line of Lauren Jackson and Liz Cambage is sure to draw a lot of their attention in the semifinal. National team head coach Geno Auriemma has matched up with Aussies enough to know what the key to beating them will be.

"We've played Australia enough times to know their perimeter guys are good, but the strength of their team is Lauren and Cambage. They're what make that team go. I think they're going to impose themselves on us."

Perhaps the best defense in this case for Team USA will be a good offense and the need to get out in transition will be primary. That will prevent Australia from slowing the game in an effort to feed their strong post game. Team USA's depth has been the deciding factor in most of their blow wins a the Olympics and look for Auriemma to once again use it to his advantage on Thursday.

Tip off is scheduled for noon ET and the game can be seen on the NBC family of networks.
