Andrelton Simmons Excited To Return For Playoff Push

Atlanta Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons was happy to be back in the lineup for the Braves after spending the last two months on the disabled list recovering from a broken pinky he suffered on July 8.

Simmons missed almost 60 games after injuring his finger when sliding into second base against the Philadelphia Phillies, and is ready to produce in an interview with Jordan Schelling of MLB.com,

"Now is the time. Now it's go time. This is where you want to be. You want to be in the race in September. And I'm excited."

Simmons was batting .320 with two home runs and three RBI in a rehab assignment last week, and it was enough for Fredi Gonzalez to call him back up to the majors.

In his first game back with the Braves, Simmons went 0-3 with a walk against the Milwaukee Brewers.
