FAU Vs. Georgia: Sanders Commings Set To Return, May Play Safety

Stay connected for news and updates

Georgia will get one of its defensive pillars back on Saturday, as Sanders Commings returns from a two-game suspension.

But it seems Commings may not jump right back into the starting lineup. Commings has played 42 games at safety and corner back for Georgia, but the Bulldogs appear to be going with sophomore Malcolm Mitchell as their starting corner back for Saturday's game against FAU.

Commings could still see time at safety, but Georgia will likely ease the Augusta, Ga., native back into his position. Said coach Mark Richt,

"I think he's ready. He's in good condition, and he stayed focused. He worked hard, but you only get so much work once you get into the game-planning of the opponents. You have to rep the guys who are going to play, so he hasn't had a whole lot of reps."

Commings was suspended following a domestic violence arrest in January.
