FAU Vs. Georgia: Sanders Commings Talks To The Media

Stay connected for news and updates

Georgia senior defensive back Sanders Commings met with the media Tuesday. It was his first media appearance since a January arrest on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge. Commings served a two-game suspension following the arrest. He'll see the field for the first time this season during this week's game against Florida Atlantic.

The hardest part of the ordeal, Commings said, was the negative impact the arrest had on his reputation.

"That was the biggest punishment, what I had to go through off the field, what I put my family through, put the university through, all that," Commings told the Macon Times. "Missing the games, that was probably the easiest part of the punishment, really."

Commings initially appealed the suspension, hoping to play in last week's victory over Missouri. He found out late last week that his appeal was lost. A versatile athlete, Commings could see time at either cornerback or safety this weekend.
