College Football Rankings: Georgia Fifth In Simulated BCS Rankings

Stay connected for news and updates

The Georgia Bulldogs' downfall this season might be the conference they play in. Despite being ranked fifth in SB Nation's latest simulated BCS standings, they are rated the third best team in the SEC.

That is because Alabama and LSU are ranked first and second, respectively, in this week's poll.

In fact, the top-five teams come from only two conferences, as No. 3 Oregon and No. 4 Stanford are both members of the PAC-12.

As for the other SEC teams in the rankings, South Carolina checks in at No. 7, Florida is at No. 11 and Mississippi State is at No. 24.

Luckily for the Bulldogs, only two of those five other SEC teams are on their regular season schedule. Georgia plays at South Carolina on Oct. 6 and hosts Florida on Oct. 27.
